Hello again.
If you wear, or have ever worn, contact lenses, you most likely have encountered the problem that I faced this morning while getting ready for class. As I picked my right contact lens from its container, I could not tell if I had accidentally reversed it or not. When this happens, the lens will seem to work as it normally would, but as the day goes on the lens will begin to irritate the eye.
As I stood there trying to figure out which side was the correct side, I thought of an easy way to solve this problem. I think that contact lens manufacturers should devise a way that if the lens does in fact reverse sides, the lens should turn a different color. This would make it easy to tell if the lens was flipped to the correct side, because if the lens turned black, for example, it would be impossible to see through it. Although I think this is a good idea and would solve this problem, I am not sure how to manufacture such a product.
That's all I got for now,

If this was out there as a type of contact, I would invest in it. I cannot remember the amount of times I placed my contacts in only to find out later that they were flipped the wrong direction. There has also been times when I rip them just trying to flip it back over because I am in such a hurry and I just want to be able to see.
ReplyDeleteI feel that if there was a way, besides inspecting it with a close eye, to determine the right side, it will save contact wearers money, time, and possibly the pain and irritation that they suffer. Therefore, I would love to see this idea carried through, if at all possible.

Hey I wear contacts and I go through the same problem too. I used to have contacts that has 123 number on the side but they are semi clear and so small that I was only able to see them couple times. The funny trhing is its so small and hard to see how do they expect me to see it with my bad eyesight ??...
